It’s official, the Wi-fi and Cellular version of iPad Mini and the iPad 4 retina display have been launched in China on 8th January, through Apple retail stores, the Apple Online Store and select Apple Authorized Resellers. This move shows how important the Chinese market has become to Apple.
The news comes less than week after Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook revealed that the iPad 4 is set to release sometime this month without revealing any exact dates.
The iPad Mini is 23% thinner and 53% lighter than the iPad 3 and has a 7.9 inch Multi Touch display, HD Facetime and 5MP iSight camera. It claims to have ultra fast wireless performance and 10 hour battery life.
The fourth generation iPad most marketed feature is the 9.7-inch Retina display, new Apple-designed A6X chip, FaceTime HD camera and ultrafast wireless performance. Both, the iPad mini and the iPad 4 come with iOS 6.
The iPad mini with Wifi + Cellular models come in black & slate or white & silver. The iPad 4 with Wifi + Cellular models come in black or white. Both, the iPad Mini and iPad 4 are available in n 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models.
Reports said that the sale for the iPad Mini was slow immediately after its debut in China because of the reservation system set up by the company after a near riot by customers who had waited overnight in front of the Beijing Apple store for the iPhone 4S.
Both tablets are currently available in 100 countries worldwide including US, Australia, Japan, Canada, France, Germany and UK.
