Celkon A200 First Impression

The Celkon A200 is one of the stylish entries of Android smartphones. This phone competes with other successful brands of Micromax, Karbonn and so on. Celkon A200 is an attractive piece with neat designs with curved edges and shiny finish. The drawback here is the phone can leave scratch marks, but nevertheless the refined and polished appeal of the handset negates this drawback. A volume rocker with neatly carved buttons on the top right side of the device with other auxiliary fitting of 3.5mm handsfree and micro US ports fitted on top on either side of power or sleep mode key. There is a hot-swap microSD card compartment under the panel. The battery power offered is 1500m Ah. To spice up the interesting and exciting features there is a 5MP camera at the back along with LED’s that contribute to the flash. The Celkon A200 is manufactured with a robust build with shiny curved edges that tend to be slightly slippery, but the handset poses an attractive feature which negates the slippery effect. The Celkon A200 is equipped with non-customised, stock version of Google’s ICS (Android 4.0.4) OS that functions efficiently with only a minimal lag. The phone is inserted with 1.2GHz Dual Core processor that operates with amazing versatility. In terms of performance, the Linpack scores decent with 39MFLOS in Single Thread run and 63.5 MFLOPS in Multi-Thread while performance in AnTuTu is similar to that of Galaxy Nexus. The phone is inserted with 512MB of RAM, 1GB. There is a User Profiles setting provides quick control for tuning between profiles. There is also a scheduler for switching the handset off at convenient times. SIM management can be simplified through built-in manger in the settings menu. This system enables the user to assign functions for each SIM including one to handle Wi-Fi. There is an option of one 3G connection and second option for calls and messages. The camera is designed with two music players such as Google’s stock Android player and Play Music App. The music quality in pretty decent with high decibel levels. The tone quality was not all that decent. The higher tones were too loud and the mids were too loud. The phone could have been inserted with lower/bass tones. The overall quality of the tone was decent with EQ settings and Bass Boss feature. Celkon has inserted the A200 with new and interesting video codecs with support for AVI formats, MPEG4, 3GPP and WMV. There is also a third party player. The drawback with this phone is the A200 was unable to play full HD videos. The A200 is equipped with FM radio with features of recording function and RDS settings. There is a sound recorder for voice quality. For gaming fans the phone is decked with interesting games such as Angry Birds Seasons and Stunt Birds. The A200 is rolled out with amazing Google GPS features such as Maps, Navigation, Local, Google Earth and Compass. There are also social networking features such as Facebook, Google, Messenger, Skype and Twitter.
