Canon has launched its new EF 24-70 mm f/4L IS USM lens premium standard zoom lens for its full frame and APS-C DSLR cameras. This lens offers Super Spectra coatings, nine-blade circular aperture, ultrasonic focus motor, silent high-speed AF performance, full time manual focusing, dust and drip proof construction and image stabilization of 4 stop advantage. You will also get an innovative macro function which increases the flexibility of the lens making it capable of shooting a maximum magnification of 0.7x. Being a professional L-series standard zoom lens, this lens is not bulky as you would have expected. It also weighs less at only 600g and hence it can be used on a smaller APS-C body too. This lens feels formidable in the hand, despite the fact that the outer barrel and filter thread are made from plastic. The focusing ring is of an appropriate width and has a rubbery band for grip.
