BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930 Specs and Hands-on

Canada based Research In Motion (RIM) launched the much anticipated BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 (GSM) and BlackBerry Bold Touch 9930 (CDMA) version during the event BlackBerry World Conference held at Orlando. A couple of days before the event the official website hinted the launch with a teaser image of the smartphone and we pretty much covered the same. RIM claims this new smartphone as thinnest (10.5mm) ever in the Bold Series. It is featured with Stainless steel circumference designed specially and holds a fiberglass at back. The smartphone comes with a 2.8-inch Capacitive touch screen display with 287 dpi resolution displaying 640×480 px at VGA quality. BlackBerry Bold equipped with 1.2 GHz Snapdragon Processor coupled with 768 MB RAM and 8 GB On-board memory. However, the memory can be expandable up to 32 GB using a memory card. The camera is capable of recording the videos at 720p HD. This includes a Built-in GPS / aGPS, Orientation Sensor (Accelerometer), Digital Compass (Magnetometer), Proximity Sensor. The connectivity features include Bluetooth® 2.1+EDR support, Dual-Band Wi-Fi – 802.11 b/g/n at 2.4 GHz and 802.11 a/n at 5 GHz. The 3G connectivity with Bold 9900 (HSDPA 14.4 Mbps, HSUPA 5.76 Mbps), Bold 9930 (HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps; Rev.A, up to 3.1 Mbps). The updated BlackBerry OS 7 comes with some interesting features like operating the smartphone with a voice command. This includes searching the files and drive through the menu options.
