Blackberry and Porsche join together to launch luxury smartphone P9981

What can you expect when a smartphone maker RIM and a high-end luxury accessory maker for men Porsche Design come together? A luxury smartphone with lots of style and glamour! In an exclusive event held at Dubai, RIM and Porsche unveiled a luxury smartphone called Porsche Design P’9981. The P9981 is powered by a 1.2 Ghz dual-core processor, 768MB RAM and Blackberry OS 7. The highlight of the phone is the design and the built. The smartphone is forged in stainless steel and a leather-covered back. As Blackberry puts it, the smartphone is “styled by porsche design, forged in stainless steel, finished in leather and powered by Blackberry”.


P9981 is just 11.3 mm thin and the 2.8 inch display provides a good touch experience. The screen real-estate is small, but you get an amazing full-QWERTY keypad in return for the compromise! The 5MP Camera with flash and auto-focus allows you to take amazing pictures and even allows you to record 720p HD video. The bells and whistles include image stabilization, face detection, geo-tagging and various scene modes. The 8GB on-board storage allows you to store ample stuff and if you are squeezed for space you can expand your secondary storage upto 32GB. The Porsche P9981 comes with an exclusively designed user interface and a custom-made application called wikitude world browser augmented reality. Porsche P9981 also offers an exclusive limited edition PIN that helps one P9981 user to find other P9981 user! Talk about exclusive and privilege club!
