Bharti Infratel Appoints New CEO

Bharti Infratel Ltd, the tower infrastructure subsidiary of India’s largest mobile telecommunications services company Bharti Airtel Ltd, has announced the appointment of Devender Singh Rawat as its new chief executive officer (CEO). Rawat has succeeded Prem Pradeep for this position. As CEO of Bharti Infratel, Rawat would be responsible for putting together and driving a concrete long-term strategy for the company and proactively handling matters relating to business augmentation, operations and service excellence, the company said. Also, he will be reporting to the company’s managing director Akhil Gupta. Rawat most recently worked with Huawei, and has also served Escotel and Ericsson. bharti Bharti Infratel is one of the world’s largest telecom passive infrastructure service provider, that deploys, owns and manages telecom towers and communication structures, for various wireless operators across the 18 states in India. It has a vast footprint of over 30,000 towers and also has a 42% stake in Indus Towers Ltd (a joint venture between Bharti Infratel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular).
