BBM for Android launching on September 21, Micromax to pre-load it in Canvas series phones

BlackBerry has finally officially announced that it’s highly popular BlackBerry Messenger will be available for the Android users from September 21 on the Google Play Store. BBM chat app for Android will be totally free and it can be used on any phone running on the Android 4.0 & higher versions of the operating system.

After the official announcement of the BBM for Android launch, Micromax has also announced that it will pre-load the Messenger app on its Canvas Series of phones beginning first week of October. “Bringing one of the most popular mobile messaging services with BBM on our smartphones is yet another effort to expand our bouquet of messaging services for our consumers to connect and communicate seamlessly with their loved ones,” said Deepak Mehrotra, CEO, Micromax.

BlackBerry messenger for all

BlackBerry Messenger for Android will provide the users immediate conversation facility with their friends using iPhone, BlackBerry and Android phones. Users will be able to know if their messages have been delivered or not and the receiver is responding to the message. BBM Android users will be able to share photos, voice notes and files with their friends, all in an instant. It will also provide multi-person chats with up to 32 friends and the group chat users will also be able to share photos with all. Users can also broadcast a single message to all the contacts just like the WhatsApp. It will also allow the users to put a person message, profile picture & current status. In addition to Google Play, the BBM app will also go live in the Samsung App store which was confirmed by Samsung a few days ago. iPhone users will be able to download the BBM chat app from September 22.
