Archos GamePad 2 officially unveiled with quad core processor and 7inch display

Archos has announced a new version of its Archos GamePad tablet which is a dedicated Android based gaming tablet dubbed as Archos GamePad 2. Successor to the original GamePad the new version of the device brings a lot of new upgrades under the hood. Company has powered this 7inch device with a quad cored CPU along with 2GB of RAM for decent gaming experience. According to the company, it will be available to buy in the Europe for $245 by the end of October and in the US later this year.

  • It comes with a 7inch IPS touch screen IPS display with the resolution of 1280*800 pixels
  • It is powered by a 1.6GHz quad core Cortex A9 processor along with 2GB of RAM memory
  • It comes in 8GB and 16GB internal storage models
  • It is running on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system version
  • It is also having a microSD card slot which can be used to expend the storage further up to 64GB
  • It comes with a front facing camera and dual-band WiFi connectivity

With our GamePad 2 we have included an HD screen, better controls, a larger battery and a faster processor,” said Loic Poirier, CEO of ARCHOS. Archos has left the Google Android interface on the tablet unintended, so you will not find any messing around with the original interface of the OS. It also comes with dual speakers which can provide decent media viewing experience.
