Apple becomes the largest smartphone seller in US

Apple has a share of 53.3% in the smartphone market in the last 12 weeks in US. 


Apple iPhone 5 has been the prime reason for Apple reporting such impressive sales numbers. As per sales data from Kantar Worldpanel comtech  this is the first time that Apple has crossed the market share of smartphones by 50%. Samsung continues to be the leader in Europe in the smartphone industry in the last 12 weeks.

Samsung reported a share of 44.3% followed by Apple that reported a share of 25.3% in the smartphone industry in Europe in last 12 weeks.

Kantar Worldpanel comtech reports that Nokia is expected to improve its performance in the Great Britain market with the launch of  Lumia 800 and Lumia 610. Out of the total sales of Nokia in the past six months in Great Britain, 28% have come from those under 35 years in comparison with 42% of overall smartphone sales.
