“Aircel has also partnered with Amazon Pay to offer a cashback of Rs 75 on select plans”
Earlier this month, there were reports that struggling GSM player Aircel may slowly shut down its services in the country. The company will reportedly sell its assets to a larger telecom operator in the country. In the meanwhile, the brand has announced its new affordable voice and data combo plan for prepaid customers to compete against Reliance Jio’s latest plans. In addition, the brand has announced its collaboration with Amazon India to offer cashbacks.
Aircel’s prepaid users can now get a flat cashback of Rs 75 as Amazon Pay balance by recharging select plans via Amazon India. The brand’s new plan is priced at Rs 146, which is available only on Aircel’s mobile application. The plan gives you unlimited voice calls and 5GB of 2G or 3G data for up to 28 days. This plan is available in all telecom circles where Aircel operates. The price of the plan may vary from circle to circle.
Speaking on the launch of the offerings, Anupam Vasudev, Chief Marketing Officer from Aircel said, “Aircel continuing with its credo of “do a little extra” is delighted to partner with Amazon Pay for creating greater value for its customers. We want to pitch Aircel Mobile App and Amazon as the best recharge and service destination for Aircel consumers and are confident that these value-loaded offerings on Aircel App and Amazon Pay are not only going to delight our customers but also tip the scale for the fence-sitters to adopt and embrace the convenience of digital payments, available on their phones.”
In related news, Aircel recently introduced a new service called mobile backup solution. It allows Aircel users to back up their contacts, messages, images, videos, audio and other files on the cloud, and use the data on multiple devices. Available for Android, the service is completely free and offers users up to 2GB of storage.
