Affordable Octa-core processor from MediaTek coming your way

Enough of Quad cores from Micromax, Lava and Karbonn, its time to make them obsolete. It’s almost a trend now. First an international company (e.g. Samsung, LG) comes up with a brand new processor, then MediaTek launches an affordable version which is followed by Indian market getting bombarded with the mobiles powered by it.

It was expected since the launch of Samsung Galaxy S4 that MediaTek will soon come up with its own version of Octa-core processor and if the latest reports are to be believed, MediaTek is already working on it.

The only Octa-core powered mobile as of now is Samsung Galaxy S4 which is powered by Exynos 5 processor. The Exynos 5 processor consist 8 cores but technically only 4 cores are active at a time. Whereas, in MediaTek’s new MT6592, all the 8 cores will work simultaneously generating enough speed to run any kind of program. The chip will be clocked at 2GHz and reportedly scores 30k on AnTuTu which is quite impressive.

MediaTek processors cost significantly lesser than those of others and that is the reason all the Indian mobile manufacturers adopt it in order keep their devices affordable. An Octa-core processor coming from MediaTek sounds exciting. We are eagerly waiting for the official announcement now.
