Acer officially announces C720P Chromebook with touchscreen for $299

After appearing on Amazon France, Acer C720P Chromebook with touch screen display is finally officially announced for $299. It is the second ever Chromebook laptop after Google Chromebook Pixel to arrive with a touch screen display. The new Acer Chromebook will be available to buy in early December 2013 at online store. It is significantly cheaper than Google Chromebook Pixel which is priced at $1299.

The Acer C720 Chromebook line has been praised for its performance and battery life, and this new touchscreen model allows us to address the needs of an even wider range of customers with exciting new capabilities.” Arif Maskatia, CTO of Acer commented on the launch. The touch screen Chromebook from Acer is a premium device compared to the recently launched Acer Chromebook C720, which is priced at $199 and comes with decent features for the budget conscious buyers. The Acer Chromebook C720P comes with an 11.6 inch ComfyView HD touch display with the resolution of 1366×768 pixels. It is powered by an Intel Celeron 2955U processor built on Haswell micro-architecture. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal storage. Other features of the device include, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB 3.0 & 2.0 ports, HDMI output, integrated HD webcam and dual-speakers. Acer is also offering 100 GB of free Google Drive storage for 2 years and 12 free GoGo In flight passes with its latest Chromebook.
