Acer has launched two new smartphone devices – the Liquid E1 and Liquid Z2, which are mid range devices built on Android 4.1 JellyBean platform, and come in single SIM and dual SIM options. The Liquid E has a 4.5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a display resolution of 540 x 960 pixels and a pixel density of 245 ppi. The device comes with a 1GHz dual core processor powered by 1GB of RAM. The Liquid E houses a 5MP rear camera coupled with a VGA front camera. It has 4GB internal memory that is expandable up to 32GB via micro SD card. Connectivity features include 3G, GPS, WiFi, USB, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth. Finally the whole setup runs on a 1760 mAh battery. The company is promoting the device to be multimedia friendly, adding two speaker with DTS sound and a “Float” software that will prevent notification pop up while watching videos.
The Acer Liquid Z2 is an entry level handset with 3.5 inch HVGA touch screen with 480 x 320 display resolution. It has an optional interface that mimics a feature phone’s home screen.The device is powered by a 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM. There are two camera options available with the device – 3MP and 5MP. It has 4GB internal memory that is expandable via micro SD card. COnnectivity options include 3G, GPS, WiFi, USB, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth.Finally, the device runs on a 1300mAh battery.
The two new devices are first of the 2013 launches planned by the company. The Liquid E1 was announced by the company last month, and has been launched in the European market today.
