Acer launched Iconia W4 tablet with Windows 8.1 operating system

Acer has launched a new tablet dubbed as Acer Iconia W4 running on the Windows 8.1 operating system version with an 8inch display. It will be available to buy in the United States starting this month in two variants. The 32GB internal storage model of the tablet is priced at $329.99 and the 64GB memory model is priced at $379.99.

The tablet runs on the Microsoft Windows 8.1 OS which is the latest version of the OS for notebooks, PCs and tablets. The 8.1 OS version brings new features like enhanced searching & sharing and it also features Internet explorer version 11 along with improved touch optimization. Microsoft has also added back the Start button in the OS.

The 8inch display of the tablet is having resolution of 1280*800 pixels. It is powered by the Intel Atom processor clocked at 1.8GHz. It comes with 5MP rear autofocus camera along with 2MP front facing shooter for video calling. Connectivity wise it offers micro USB, micro HDMI and WiFi. It comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 addition to create and edit documents etc. Acer is also offering a keyboard dock and a leather cover which also serves as a tablet stand. Price of these accessories is not yet disclosed by the company. The Bluetooth keyboard of the tablet can be easily charged via micro USB. It will be competing against the recently launched Lenovo Miix 2 tablet which is also running Windows 8.1 operating system version and comes with the same 8inch display.
