XOLO to debut its new HIVE UI on August 6th, Play 8X-1000 expected

Last month, XOLO started teasing its upcoming smartphone the Play 8X-1000 with an all new HIVE UI from the company. The vendor has now sent out an invite for a launch event, which is taking place in Delhi on August 6th. The manufacturer is expected to launch the Play 8X-1000 smartphone, although this hasn’t been specified in the invite.

According to the rumours, the XOLO Play 8X-1000 will be a flagship smartphone from the company with a 5-inch full HD display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It will be powered by an octa-core processor (most likely a MediaTek chipset), paired with 2GB of RAM. Unfortunately these are the only details available regarding the phone at the moment.

The main highlight of the XOLO Play 8X-1000 will be its all new HIVE user interface. It will be based on Android 4.4 KitKat and will have a launcher that will list all of the applications installed in the phone chronologically. The homescreen will get a Chameleon Widget, which will display information regarding weather along with notifications.

The Contacts Book application will integrate contacts with social networks like Twitter and Linkedin. HIVE UI will also come with some pre-loaded widgets and a handful of features like a one-touch RAM cleaner and music player. It will offer various themes, a customisable app drawer and a ton of other features. More details regarding the price and features of the upcoming XOLO flagship will be available next week.
