“Xiaomi is expected to launch both Android and Windows variants of the Mi Pad 3”
A few months ago, we covered news surrounding Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi Pad 3 tablet which was rumoured to come with Windows onboard. However, new leaks suggest that the Chinese company might be launching two separate versions of the tablet dubbed the Mi Pad 3 and the Mi Pad 3 Pro, one of which will be powered by Windows while the other will be powered by Android.
According to the report, the Mi Pad 3 will feature a 7.9-inch display of unknown resolution. The tablet will come with 4GB of RAM and come in two different storage variants of 64GB and 128GB. The tablet will run Android 7.0 upon first boot and will be priced at $188 (~Rs 12,300) and $231 (~Rs 15,000) respectively.
The Pro variant of the Mi Pad 3 will come with a 9.7-inch display of unknown resolution. The RAM and storage variants of the Pro variant will be similar to that of the smaller 7.9-inch version, and it will derive its power from an Intel 8750 (probably the Atom x7-Z8750) chipset. The tablet is rumoured to ship with Windows 10 onboard and will be priced at $246 (~Rs 16,000).
Both the tablets are expected to be unveiled by the company in the month of April, alongside their flagship smartphone Mi 6.
