Vodafone India launches new International Roaming Packs offering up to 95% discount

Vodafone Third largest Telecom operator in India terms of subscriber base, Vodafone has launched new roaming packs for its subscribers travelling to foreign countries. The roaming packs are available for both prepaid and postpaid users, and offer as much as 78% discount in voice calls and 95% on data charges in comparison to previous pack. These roaming packs will be applicable in 53 countries including popular destinations like USA, UK, UAE, Singapore, and more. For postpaid users, there are two packs- Rs. 599 have 10 days validity, and Rs. 1499 comes with 30 days validity. The same offers are available for prepaid users with recharge vouchers of Rs. 673 and Rs. 1684 respectively. The pack can be activated by sending an SMS to “ACT VROAM to 111”. Commenting on the announcement, Vivek Mathur, Vodafone India, Chief Commercial Officer said: ”With these new international roaming packs, we are offering unmatched value, convenience and huge savings to our customer segment that travels abroad for both leisure and business.” With these packs, the data will cost Rs. 30 per MB to a user during international roaming. Comparing it to earlier pack, the data was as expensive as Rs. 563 per MB. Similarly, local outgoing calls are slashed to Rs. 15 per minute from Rs. 70. Incoming calls and international outgoing calls will cost Rs. 30 per minute. With the Rs. 1499 pack, users will get 30 minutes of incoming calls free.
