Finland based mobile startup company, Jolla has finally revealed the specifications of its first smartphone powered by Sailfish operating system. Company originally announced the phone back in May this year but it didn’t reveal any info on the specs as well as the name of the phone at the time. Company recently announced that the Sailfish OS powered devices will be able to run apps developed for Android OS.
Features wise the Jolla Phone comes with 4.5inch touch screen display with the resolution of 960*540 pixels. It is powered by a 1.4GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor along with 1GB of RAM memory. The phone comes with 16GB of internal storage which is further expendable via microSD card slot but no exact maximum capacity is mentioned at the moment. The Jolla smartphone will sport an 8MP autofocus rear camera along with LED flash support and also comes with 2MP front facing shooter too. It is powered by a decent 2100mAh battery. One of the unique features this phone is going to offer is the changeable smart covers for the back which will change the software interface of the phone after attaching to the phone.
Recently, company claimed that the first production batch of the Jolla phone was totally booked. Jolla received pre-orders for the phone from total 136 countries but didn’t reveal the exact amount of devices booked. Company has mentioned that it will start shipping the phone for the pre-orders by the end of 2013.
