After launching the latest its latest flagship smartphone Sony Xperia Z1, company is also planning to release a mid-range phablet in the country dubbed as Sony Xperia C. According to the sources, Sony will release the phone very soon in India and it will be priced below Rs. 20,000. There is no information on the exact release date but we expect it to arrive in the country around early October.
To remind you, Sony Xperia C smartphone was originally announced back in June this year and it is the first phone from the Sony powered by a MediaTek processor. It comes with a 5inch TFT touch screen display with the resolution of 540*960 pixels. It is running on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system version and powered by a 1.2GHz quad core processor along with 1GB of RAM memory. It comes with 4GB of internal storage which is further expendable up to 32GB via external microSD card. Connectivity wise it offers WiFi, Bluetooth, EDGE and USB options. It is equipped with an 8MP rear shooter with autofocus and LED flash support. It also comes with a VGA front facing camera for video calling. Company has powered this mid-range phablet with a decent 2390mAh battery. It is going to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Grand and some other mid-range phablets in the country. However, if you are not interested in the mid-range phones and looking for something on the higher level then you should totally check out recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Sony Xperia Z1 smartphones. Sony’s device is available to buy in the market, but Samsung’s latest Note will officially go on sale from September 25th.
