Yet another compact camera designed and created by Sony called the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1. This camera is meant to be an addition to the premium range of cameras by Sony, and targets the more professional photographer. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1 is a 24.3 megapixel 35mm fill frame beauty with an Exmor CMOS Sensor. The lens is by the wonders of Carl Zeiss being a Carl Zeiss Sonnar T 35 mm F2 prime lens. Which specifications such as these, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1 is undoubtedly capable of producing full HD movies at 50p, 60p or 25p/24p. 
The Sony Cybershot DSC-RX1 can more than muster high resolution through its 3 inch LCD screen with an ISO range from ISO 50-25,600 and continuous shooting to 5fps at optimum resolution, with built in pop-up flash, support for 14 bit RAW format and full manual controls. Normally when assessing a 35 mm image full frame sensor, the image that usually pops up in the head is the visuals of a huge, disproportionate chunky device. However with the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1 it is true to the compact identity of the RX1 but it snaps like a full fledged professional camera. The 35mm CMOS sensor is completely the same size as that found in DSLR’s for instance the Nikon D600., D800 an d Canon EOS 5D Mark II and 6D. The famous and well respected Carl Zeiss lenses, substantial high resolution LCD screen , full control over exposure along with other controls make it a sensational compact camera housing all the magic of a professional camera. The only missing factor separating it from being a true compact DSLR like camera is the eye level viewfinder , which if implemented in the design of this compact camera, would have increased its cost. This lightweight aluminum body Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1 has a 35mm prime lens along with a maximum aperture of f/2. The super fast lens, along with the nine blade circular aperture and sensor create defocused depth –of field effects unlike that seen on any other compact camera. Also, with the f/2 aperture and maximum ISO speed of 25600 this camera is capable of taking great imagery even under low light conditions. There is no image stabilizer however. Around the lens are three different control rings using which you can manually focus. The traditional aperture ring allows for accurate adjustment as per your liking and needs. The image sensor is a little large, as is the physical lens which occupies much of the front of the camera, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1 is very sleek, slim compact and slender and measures a mere 6.9 cms in depth, 6.5 cms in height and 11 cms in width. It also weighs about 482 grams inclusive of the battery and memory card in place. On the back you will find a big 3 inch 1228kodt resolution screen. The screen offers high contrast and visibility even outdoors under bright light is high. The large screen however reduces handling and there isn’t enough room to get a proper grip on the camera, especially when you take into consideration its size. That along with the fact that there is no image stabilization could seem problematic in a minor way, despite this, the images and videos produced offer high quality clarity and color saturation. On the front of the RXI is a lens and porthole on the left for the self-timer illuminator. The flash unit is a pop up cleverly crafter one found on top of the camera, which automatically arises when you choose flash mode. This can also be worked manually for quick initiation of the flash. This compact camera offers a wide range of features, and easily finds its place among the top forerunners of the compact camera segment.
