Samsung DV150F Digi-cam Preview

While taking a picture, every person wants to get included in that flick, as later when flipping through the album it’s really bad to see yourself missing from that special family pic or that beautiful scenic snap. As a solution to this looming problem of the shooters, the market winning company Samsung presents its DualView cameras that feature two in place of one LCD monitor. This series comprises of one rear panel LCD monitor that you use for taking pictures and a second display on the front panel alongside the lens to help shooting self-portraits. This second front display is obviously small as the camera’s lens dominates the front panel. Samsung DV150F Samsung DV150F has a front panel display of just 1.5 inches, as compared against the 2.7 inches for the rear panel. That does mean you’ll need to be pretty close to the camera to get a good portrait picture. Moreover, for the social media buffs Samsung also involves a built-in Wi-Fi wireless networking connectivity that lets the DV150F easily share pictures to popular media sites such as Facebook, twitter, etc. The camera also lets you remotely control it by using a free Samsung Smart Camera app, available on either Android or iOS operating systems. This system not only allows remote shutter release, but also for remote viewfinder. Thus, at times when you can’t fit everybody in the self portrait mode, you can put the camera on a tripod and confirm everybody’s pose on your phone before taking the snap. Samsung DV150F specifications are also really competent, as behind the 5x optical zoom lens there is a 16.2-megapixel, 1/2.3-inch CCD image sensor that has the compatibility of an ISO sensitivity range from 80 to 3,200 equivalents. The lens provides 35mm equivalent focal lengths from a good 25mm wide angle to a sober 125mm telephoto. The maximum aperture starts off from a fairly bright f/2.5 at wide angle, however goes down to a dim f/6.3 at telephoto. The camera also offers the very useful optical image stabilization to help out in fighting blur from camera shake. As DV150F’s key feature is portrait photos, Samsung has also added a Beauty Palette function that allows the users to apply various make-up effects to their photos to enhance the look of the portraits. Moreover, a Smart Filter 3.0 tool as well as a magic frame function is also there, from the previous models that allow the user to overlay a variety of picture frames the photos. The DV150F also provides a high definition movie capture, with videos saved using MPEG-4 AVC / H.264 compression. The DV150F stores images and movies on MicroSD cards. Connectivity comprises of standard definition composite video output and USB 2.0 High Speed data. The camera is powered by a BP70A lithium-ion rechargeable battery, though the battery life information is yet not available. In package of myriad colors of a variety of black, white, purple, pink and green, the Samsung DV150F comes with a price tag of around US$150 and will be shipped from March 2013.
