With the selfie trend showing no signs of abating, smartphone-makers have been trying to up their front-cam game. Almost every brand has launched at least one smartphone dedicated to self-portraits, if not a smartphone with a good front camera, and hence you can find a smartphone that can take decent selfies in pretty much every budget segment. Chinese brand OPPO, which is no stranger to this game, recently launched
). The company likes to call the smartphone the “Selfie Expert”. We’ll find out whether it lives up to the name once we review the device. Meanwhile, here’s a quick look at the box contents of the new OPPO F1.
The OPPO F1’s packaging exaggerates the “Selfie Expert” tag, by displaying an image of the phone, a makeup kit and a bunch of shaving tools on the box’s thin slide-on cardboard cover. The back features all the product details. The box inside is a humble white, slightly accentuated with OPPO branding.
Take of the lid and you find the smartphone lying on top of a thin plastic tray. The first thing you’d notice when you pick up the OPPO F1 is its sleek design and a rather light build for a smartphone sporting a metal body. Beneath the plastic tray, there’s a cardboard packet carrying a SIM-ejector tool, all the necessary documentation and a transparent silicon back cover.
Lastly, lifting up the cardboard packaging, you get access to a 2-pin 1A wall charger, a micro-USB to USB cable and a pair of in-ear headphones, all arranged neatly inside the box.
Priced at Rs 15,990, the OPPO F1 is one of the more expensive selfie-centric smartphones out there. Keep watching this space to know whether it’s worth your money.
