Nokia retreats the touchscreen mobile lovers with its new Nokia 5230. The design might make you think for a while as it appears to be a twin of Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. This generic mobile lined up in the mid range mobiles and to the wonder it is not branded under any series (XpressMusic, N-Series, E-Series, X-Series, etc,). The mobile is loaded with Symbian S60 5th edition Interface. It is drawn to the dimensions 111 x 51.7 x 15.5 mm, 83 cc. Nokia 5230 weighs 115g and works on GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 (2G), HSDPA 900 / 2100 (3G) operating frequency. The gizmo comes in White/Red, White/Silver, Black/Dark silver, colors. It supports 3G and loaded with Ovi store. The Ovi store can be accessed from home screen. Nokia 5230 has a 2 Megapixel camera, and it supports mapping the images using Ovi maps v.3.0 which in turn uses A-GPS. Fetching all sides of the mobile, the top side it is framed with 3.5mm audio jack, MicroUSB port, and the battery charging point. The USB port cannot be used for charging. On the right, we can see the volume control keys, screen lock and camera key. On the left we can find the sim card slot and a memory card slot. It looks a bit hard to swap the sim card without a stylus. The front covers with the large resistive touch screen and three buttons beneath (start call, end call, and a menu). The 2 megapixel camera renders a quality images even though it does not have a flash light and auto-focus. The screen resolution is very high but at very poor in the sunlight at the same time. The dedicated camera button is very handy and loads the camera very fast. The video recording at 640 x 480 pixels can give a TV quality output at 30 fps. It covered the expected goodies as Bluetooth, FM, GPS, and 3G and even more to enrich the experience of the buyers with Accelerometer and Proximity sensor. The mobile has an internal memory of 70 MB and the users have an option to expand up to 16 GB. The Symbian interface gives the users a rich experience.  The standard BL-5J 1320 mAh Li-Ion battery gives the maximum talk time up to 7 hours in 2G and 4 hours in 3G. The long lasting standby time maxes up to 438 hours. The web browser loads the data faster and it supports flash content and Java. The users can browse using GPRS, EDGE and 3G. Unfortunately, there is no office document viewer. This budget mobile tried hard in sticking to its range without adding Wi-Fi to it. At the same time the sales pack does not include a memory card and a data cable. On the whole this mobile very well suits the buyer who debuts to the touch screen experience.
