“Motorola quite possibly be planning entry in India with mid ranged Moto G”
International mobile device brand Motorola, which earlier had said goodbye to the Indian mobile phone users, quite possibly is planning its re-entry with its mid ranged Moto G
android smartphone. The Moto G from Motorola is scheduled to be announced today for global markets later today. To make things interesting Motorola has put up a teaser post specifically for Indian users on its Facebook page. Although it straight away does not convey or mean anything as it’s just an invitation to see the webcast of Motorola’s global launch event. What’s interesting is, why a brand that is already out of Indian market be interested in telling users in India about it.
Well all said and done it’s a clear indication of Motorola being still interested in bringing its products to the Indian market. While saying so we believe that Motorola would be interested in bringing the cheaper Moto G smartphone in the market first before venturing in to the premium smartphone category with its more expensive Moto X smartphone.
The reason for the re-entry of the brand in the Indian market could be influenced by Google which now owns Motorola. Google with its Android based devices simply ruling the smartphone category across the country is a clear indication of opportunity for Motorola, which has quite a long list of followers in the market already.
While it is still unclear as to what might happen, we surely hope Motorola devices to be made available in t he country once again. Which brings us to the device being launched today, the Moto G android smartphone. The Moto G is a mid-ranged device that is built around a 4.5 inch HD display while being powered by a quad core 1.2 GHz processor. The RAM is likely to be 1GB along with 8 GB of internal storage. For imagery there will be a 5 megapixel camera at the rear and a 1.3 megapixel camera in the front.
While the price is yet to be announced, the Moto G made a brief debut through Amazon UK’s listing carrying a price tag of 160 British Pounds bringing the Indian price close to Rs 17,000 mark. While the devices from both international and national brands like Samsung, LG, Sony, Micromax and Xolo are already available in this price range, Motorola’s popularity and build quality of the devices would be a deciding factor if the devices come to the market.
