Micromax launches Android-powered 4K TVs, prices start at Rs 39,990

Micromax’s Android-powered TVs come with dual-core processors, 1GB of RAM, and 2.5GB of flash memory

Micromax today launched its first 4K (ultra high definition) television range powered by Android. Offered in two screen sizes – 42-inches and 49-inches – the TVs will be available exclusively on Flipkart. They are priced at Rs 39,990 (42-inches) and Rs 49,990 (49-inches). They come pre-loaded with several apps like Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, YouTube, and let you download apps from the Play Store.

The 49-inch Micromax Android TV runs KitKat, and comes with a Somato-sensory smart remote, a dual-core processor, a quad-core GPU, 1GB of RAM, and 2.5GB of internal memory. Connectivity options include three USB ports, two HDMI ports, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and a VGA connector. The 42-inch model on the other hand runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and has similar specs to the 49-inch version, except that it offers a third HDMI port.

The Somato-sensory remote acts as an air mouse that lets users navigate the user interface. The TVs also come pre-loaded with a handful of games, and support screen-mirroring feature.
