The Chinese mobile phone manufacturer, Gionee has launched a new dual SIM smartphone, called the Dream D1. At a width of just 8.6mm, this device has an ultra slim and sleek body. The device runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.
The device has a 4.65 inch HD Super Amoled Plus display with 316 ppi screen resolution. The display is made with the scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.
The device is powered by a 1.2GHz ARM cortex A7 quad core processor along with 1GB of RAM. The device has 4GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB externally, via micro SD card. It has a 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and which allows video recording at 720 pixels, and a 1 megapixel front camera.
The device also has a built in Digital Theatre System (DTS) for enhanced audio output. The connectivity options included on this device are 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, microUSB and 3.5mm jack. The device runs on a 2100mAH battery.
The device will be available in Cobalt black color and will come along with a 16GB memory card.
This new mid range device will be joining the league of quad core processor devices such as the Micromax A116 Canvas HD, Wammy Passion Y HD and the Lava Iris 502.
The flagship device will be on sale from this month onward with a price tag of Rs. 17,999. The company had earlier suggested a launch date of 23rd March, but until the company releases the date officially, we cannot confirm this. The device is listed on Gionee’s official website.
