BlackBerry’s latest BlackBerry 10 Operating System based devices will be available in the Indian stores from today onwards across the country. The global launch of the BlackBerry 10 was launched globally on 30th January this year. The two devices currently available on the BlackBerry 10 platform are the BlackBerry Z10 and the BlackBerry Q10.
A media invitation for the devices’ launch event in Mumbai was sent out by BlackBerry. The company is in the process of reinventing its falling image by changing its name from the previous Research in Motion to BlackBerry. The company also launched two new handsets , the BlackBerry Z10 which is a touchscreen smartphone device and the BlackBerry Q10 which is a touch cum QWERTY smartphone. Along with the two new devices, the company also launched the new BlackBerry 10 operating system.
The two devices are all set to compete with Apple’s new iPhone range smartphones and Nokia’s Lumia series. Besides, the BlackBerry 10 OS will be pitted against the Android 4.2 JellyBean, Windows Phone 8 and the iOS6.1.
BlackBerry is very famous in the Indian markets, amongst students as well as working professionals, especially for its BlackBerry Messenger service. This time around, the company is also offering around 70,000 apps on the new platform and the BlackBerry Balance that will allow users to organize their work and play data.
BlackBerry Z10 was first unveiled in UK, last month, followed by Canada, UAE and USA earlier this month. The pricing details of the phone for India are not yet revealed, though the Z10 is expected to be priced in the range of around Rs. 45000.
