Amazing difference in Storage Density 1956 vs 2010

Can you guess the object they are trying to heavy-lift? Hint: This picture was taken in year 1956 image001 It’s a hard disk drive back in 1956… With 5 MB of storage. In September 1956 IBM launched the 305 RAMAC, the first ‘SUPER’ computer with a hard disk drive (HDD). The HDD weighed over a ton and stored a ‘whopping’ 5 MB of data 🙂 Remember the editorial article we wrote about the Mobile storage industry? The SDXC Cards that can store upto 2 TB of data? SDXC Cards weight just 0.5g! Even if we assume the 64GB SDXC Cards available in the market now, the difference in storage density is mind-boggling! 1956 – 5 Bytes per gram 2010 – 128 GB per gram This is what we call EVOLUTION! We are truly blessed to live in this era!
