Acer Aspire S7 Notebook Review

When we say flagship model of a prominent and popular Company, you generally expect a large range of high end features. The Company packs in its best to showcase its top of the line devices, be it mobiles, ultrabooks, notebooks, hybrids and whatever else. acer-aspire-s7_01 Acer has launched its latest inspiration called the Aspire S7, as its flagship notebook. Lets take a closer look and see if it is worth the accolades. The Acer Aspire S7 most certainly stands out even in a room crowded with notebooks. The design is truly one built for a device consisting of spectacular features. The body is extremely slender being only 12.2mm thick when the lid is pulled shut. There is some detailing on the lid in the form of a neat diamond shaped pattern which sets it apart from normal silver toned notebooks. The hinge is strong keeping the lid intact and free from wobble and also allows maximum flexibility even up to 180 degrees of tilt. The entire exterior of the notebook including the glass is scratch proof. The screen is the incredible Corning’s Gorilla Glass 2. The Acer Aspire S7 has two USB 3.0 ports, headphone jack, a microSD card slot and a microHDMI port located at the back. With the notebook you will also get two break-out adapters for LAN and VGA. The LAN adapter comes powered by a USB port while the VGA adapter slots into the microHDMI port. In the box you will also find a charging adapter and an expandable battery pack. You will also get a neat carrying pouch. The Aspire S7 comes with a large sized trackpad and well spaced and tucked in blue backlit island styled keys. The display is a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution 11.6-inch screen which generates very clear and sharp images. The display is an LED backlit TFT LCD display makes it suitable to use even outdoors. You get an Intel Core i7-3517U at 1.9GHz backed by 4GB worth of RAM, and storage capacity of 256GB. The S7 uses the Windows 8 64-bit and has McAfee trial version. You will also get popular as well as some basic Acer apps like cloud storage, maintenance, backup and restore, etc.   The Acer Aspire S7 is cool even when putting it to intense use. The processor manages multi tasks beautifully with smooth execution. The touchscreen, is touch and gesture sensitive and does its duty to support all the Notebook like features. Using the keyboard as an alternative to the touchscreen is an equally good experience. There is no chance of missing keys or jamming two instead of one which is a common problem with unpleasant keyboard outlays. The Aspire S7 speakers have the Dolby Home Theatre enhancements, giving you fabulous media experience with its impeccable audio quality. The battery life can be extended at the user’s choice using the extra attached battery. If you do not need it, simply don’t carry it around, however there is no bulk factor where it is concerned. With the extra battery the Aspire S7 ran can clock about 4 to 5 hours of battery. Overall a good roll-out.
